Growing out of the series exploring colour and texture in the rotting sea defences at Cuckmere Haven and Seaford’s Splash Point this new group of works springs from further =down Seaford’s seafront in a set of Steps descending to the beach. The concrete, like the concrete in the sea defences, uses shingle from the beach injecting colour into the greys and leading to a full-one exploration of interactions between colour and texture inspired by but only loosely referencing the steps.
Painted using acrylic paints from Golden Colour in the US, on triple gesso primed paper at A1 paper size, image approx. 25 x 17 inches. Lightly glazed with water based varnish to protect the surface
