Description
Growing out of the series exploring colour and texture in the rotting sea defences at Cuckmere Haven and Seaford’s Splash Point this new group of works springs from further down Seaford’s seafront in a set of Steps descending to the beach. The concrete, like the concrete in the sea defences, uses shingle from the beach injecting colour into the greys and leading to a full-one exploration of interactions between colour and texture inspired by but only loosely referencing the steps.
This is the seventh in the series and as before is on gesso primed heavy weight cartridge paper, using washes and then impasto pigments, all from the Golden range of paints from the USA
