Acrylic on 300gsm paper primed with 3 coats of gesso ground. Working from drawings and photographs of the decaying sea defences at both the Cuckmere Haven/Coastguard Cottages and Seaford seafront this is the 40th piece of work produced looking at the colour of decay. The passage of time ravages these installations with teh assistance of tides and weather, and it is the colour that this produces that provides endless fascination. The passage of time is recorded in the sunlight and rust, lichen and fragmentation that I see and in represented in each of these works
